What You will Learn

  • Use a diving compass

  • Navigate making multiple turns

  • Estimate distance underwater

 

Your course consists of two parts

  • After you book, you will receive login instructions for the online eLearning Underwater Navigation Course theory. These modules and quizzes need to be completed before you arrive and start your practical training.

  • Diving at Nelson Bay’s beautiful white sandy bays, including practical training at Fly Point aquatic marine sanctuary, one of the most visited dive sites in NSW.

 

Pre-requisites

  • Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)

  • Minimum of 12 years of age

  • Be fit to dive (see Medical Requirements)

 

Equipment

  • If you do not have your own equipment, simply add the rental equipment you require to the shopping cart.

  • Besides your basic scuba equipment (BCD, regulator, dive computer, cylinder, wetsuit, mask, snorkel, fins, boots, weights), you will need a:

    • compass

 

Medical Requirements

Scuba diving requires a minimum level of health and fitness. Chronic health conditions, certain medications and/or recent surgery may require you to get written approval from a physician before diving.

  • Avoid disappointment, download and review the Diver Medical form to ensure you won’t need a physician’s approval to dive before enrolling in a scuba course.

  • Our staff are available to answer any questions you may have regarding the process of completing the form however we are not physicians and should not be asked for medical advice; only medical professionals can give medical clearance to dive.
